Apple-Cinnamon Flatbread

Ingredients

  • 1 Original Flatbread
  • 1/3 cup Light Cream Cheese, at room temperature 75 mL
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Apple Sauce 125 mL
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon 2 mL
  • 1 Gala apple, peeled, cored and diced (1 cup/250 mL) 0
  • 1/3 cup chopped Pitted Dates 75 mL
  • 1/3 cup Quick Oats 75 mL
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar, firmly packed 45 mL
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour 45 mL
  • 3 tbsp frozen butter, coarsely grated 45 mL
  • Ground cinnamon for dusting

Directions

  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place flatbread on the work surface and spread with cream cheese. In a small bowl, mix together the apple sauce and cinnamon and spread over the cream cheese. Set aside.

  • Step 2

    Mix together the apple, dates, oats, sugar, flour and butter. Spread the mixture evenly over the apple sauce. Bake directly on middle rack of oven for 15 to 18 min., until golden.

  • Step 3

    Let cool slightly before lightly dusting with cinnamon and slicing into 8 wedges. Serve warm or at room temperature and with a scoop of Compliments Maple Walnut Ice Cream, if desired.
